Purpose of Division:
The NeighborWorks America Training Division aims to build the capacity of organizations across the community development field through the development and provision of essential tools, learning and services. The Training Division offers professional development for non-profit staff, boards, and resident leaders across a variety of platforms including in person Training Institutes, Community Leadership Institutes, place-based local training, and online training. The Training Division trains more than 12,000 individuals from more than 3,400 nonprofits and municipalities each year.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Curriculum Production, the role works closely with Training and other NeighborWorks groups to plan, develop, implement and maintain protocols, procedures, systems and management tools associated with the development and delivery of training, including but not limited to:
- Collaborate with Curriculum managers, faculty consultants and other Curriculum Production team members to coordinate faculty logistics, materials and supplies associated with delivery of courses for NeighborWorks training Institutes, Place-Based Training, online training and other learning modality.
- Collaborate with Curriculum Development team and Curriculum Production team members for support, revision and production of course materials associated with up to three (3) tracks of content.
- Serve as the centralized administrator and point of contact for the registration of faculty for large scale training events, electronic distribution of course material access to trainers and the coordination of audio visual and room setups in the NW event management system.
- Provide oversight for faculty office supplies and supplemental materials used for training activities.
- Serve with Curriculum Production team as back up producers and/or course managers for online learning activities and large-scale virtual training events.
- Assist in the performance of administrative activities associated with the collection and processing of course evaluations, complimentary distribution of NW publications for training activities, management of online assessments, and NW professional certifications/certificates.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Curriculum Development and Curriculum Production team members for the production of course materials and activities associated with the support of the Affordable Housing, Asset Management and Construction & Production learning curriculum tracks to include:
  • Partnering with assigned faculty consultants and Curriculum Managers to coordinate the creation and revision of course materials to ensure formatting compliance.
  • Maintenance of course material files to provide staff with quick access to materials previously used for courses and other training activities
  • Processing and submission of course materials for reproduction, shipment, distribution and use at live and virtual training events.
  • Coordination of supplemental supplies, publications or activities associated with the conduct of assigned training track courses including the collection of information from faculty consultants or curriculum managers for course site visits, AV equipment needs or classroom sets ups.
  • Serving as liaison to faculty consultants with internal and external contacts related to training event logistics and production related activities for assigned learning curriculum tracks.
  • Distribution of electronic materials to faculty for delivery preparation or as needed to fulfil special needs requests of participants for digital course materials.
  • Directly responsible for the centralized registration of all faculty for large scale virtual and live events and the input and management of audio-visuals and room set up information in the event management systems for large scale live training events, monitoring and responding to inquiries and managing logistical activities through collaborative efforts with curriculum managers, faculty consultants and other production team members.
  • Provide onsite logistical support and assistance staff and faculty as a primary point of contact in faculty support offices during large scale live training events.
  • Serves with Curriculum Production team members as back up producers for webinars or virtual course managers in support of ongoing online learning activities and large-scale virtual training events.
  • Assist in the collection and processing of course evaluation data for Training Division leaders, curriculum managers, faculty and other stakeholders.
  • Provide secondary production support for the distribution of complimentary publications from the NW online bookstore for training activities, the processing of online test scores for pre and post course assessments and for the administration of NW professional certifications/certificates programs.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to work with other units within the Training Division to create synergy in planning and coordinating events.
  • Meet regularly and collaborate with other members of the Curriculum Production team to discuss, implement or improve curriculum production processes and training experiences for faculty and participants.
  • Occasional participation with or serve on Inter-divisional and corporate-wide committees and workgroups as assigned, within or outside of the training division for special projects and/or training event related activities.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Nature of Work Contacts:
The Training coordinator will develop and maintain strategic partnerships with NeighborWorks® America staff while interfacing primarily with training participants, faculty consultants and external vendors. Training coordinators are expected to be able to work independently with their assigned Curriculum Manager and instructors in addition to working under the general direction of the Senior Manager of Curriculum Production.

Fiscal Responsibilities:
Responsible for collaborating with the Senior Curriculum Production Manager to procure faculty office supplies, supplemental materials and as needed to serve on evaluation teams for Production related procurements.

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
(a) Education: High School Degree required
(b) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in education, training coordination or customer service is preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills:

(d) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural settings and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and faculty.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple detailed work activities in a fast-paced team environment and meet critical deadlines and exercise independent judgment.
• MS Office products proficiency required (Excel, Outlook and Word are essential). Adobe Professional proficiency skills also helpful.
• Strong customer service, time management and collaboration skills are necessary to obtain information and requirements from internal and external stakeholders to meet task deadlines and ensure compliance with corporate protocol.
• Ability to think critically, plan and organize multiple tasks to carry out projects and coordination processes, pay exceptional attention to details and the ability to meet frequent deadlines is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, especially as this relates to coordinating the logistics and work of other professionals, vendors and training materials or supplies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
• Experience in event planning and coordinating training events helpful.
• Maintenance of regular and timely attendance required.

Thorough knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite programs. Knowledge of and/or proficiency in the use of relational databases, spreadsheets, and presentation packages; willingness to learn other computer applications as necessary. Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college.
- Certification or expertise in project management, Excel, Adobe Professional, Power Point and/or Tableau.

Working Conditions:
(a) Travel: Must be willing to travel out of town for training and industry events, as required; up to three major events per year for up to nine (9) days each and shorter-term (2-5 day) travel possible for 1-2 additional events, per year.
(b) Physical/Sensory Demands: Fast paced working environment, extensive computer usage. Attendance at large multiple training venues is required which includes significant walking/mobility. Packing supplies and training materials for events may require occasional heavy lifting of boxes (maximum of 25lbs).
Special Provisions:
Work is performed with an extensive degree of independent judgement and action under the direction of the Senior Curriculum Production Manager and in partnership with other Curriculum Production Team members. Work is performed in field and office settings with some weekly remote work opportunities. Occasional work outside of normal business hours, such as weekends and evenings may be occasionally required, especially right before and during out-of-office training events and for other priority activities.
