Description

DESCRIPTION

The Lineman safely performs all associated tasks associated with maintaining and building overhead and underground infrastructure with fiber optic and copper cable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot and repair all distribution and transmission circuits and equipment and prepare all associated paperwork

  • Responsible for ensuring all assigned projects meet company design standards and work methods

  • Projects may require extended work hours or working in inclement weather

  • May work alone or as part of a crew supervising a lower classification such as a laborer, apprentice, or helper

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Experienced in the following tasks:

  • New Cable Installs

  • Pole Transfers

  • Strand Building

  • Cable Hanging

  • Lashing Over

  • Wreck Out

  • Make Readies

  • Ability to climb wooded utility poles and perform line work off hooks

  • Proficient in Bucket Truck Operation

  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions

  • Proven ability to analyze job locations for utility lines, permitting, and traffic control in order to complete construction activities without quality defects, safety incidents or any type of property damage

  • Proficient in completing daily inspections and reporting of maintenance issues on vehicles, trailers, and equipment

  • Must maintain a professional working attitude with co-workers and customers

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Idaho Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment

  • Candidates must pass Criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job, background check and a pre-employment drug screen

  • Authorization to work in the US
