Software Engineer III 


Job Overview & Function:

You will be joining a fun, fast-paced, diverse software development team that owns a range of products. You will be mentored by senior developers and leads on how the existing application works, and over time take ownership of it becoming the technical lead; making decisions on how best to support the business by creating new functionality or introducing new technologies. You will work closely with the Product Manager, end users, and other developers to support their various needs.

You will work with multiple senior developers and experienced team leads to guide and support you in learning our existing practices and products. The environment is collaborative and full of opportunities to make major impacts on business practices. We have team members in many diverse locations but working hours are based on Eastern Standard Time.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Follow SDLC practices and coding standards including Security, Code Review, Unit Testing, Source Control, CI\CD, Documentation, etc. to create quality software.
  • Learn our business practices so you can interact with accountants and translate business requirements into appropriate technological solutions.
  • Take ownership of our existing accounting product (Windows Forms, C#, SQL Server) so you can support IT, build additional features, and introduce new approaches/technologies as appropriate.
  • Participate in: SCRUM along with product and project managers, quality assurance, database, and IT developers to deliver functionality on a regular cadence; author code; review other developers' code; some off hour production releases.
  • Act as technical subject matter expert, help triage production issues and answer questions from stakeholders.
  • Participate in growing our overall technical practices by being an active member of our Engineering community, contributing ideas and supporting colleagues across all engineering teams.
  • Support and exhibit company values.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements

Requirements & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study
  • 3+ years of experience architecting, developing, and supporting C#/.NET Windows Forms/Desktop systems in a mid-size or larger company
  • 3+ years of experience programming T-SQL statements, building simple relational database structures and writing Stored Procedures
  • Competency with Microsoft SQL Server & RDBMS
  • SDLC
  • C#6 or higher
  • .NET 4.6.2 or higher
  • MS Visual Studio 2019 or higher
  • Create and maintain relevant product and process documentation, including but not limited to: To-Be/As-Is Models, ERD Diagrams, Behavior Diagrams, Class Diagrams, etc.
  • Understanding of code architecture and code design patterns
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service, teaching, mentoring skills, leadership and influencing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a projects-based team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Flexible and can adapt to change


  • Familiarity with accounting/finance concepts a huge plus
