Description

The Promoting Interoperability Lead’s main duty is to manage and provide oversight on CPSI’s Promoting Interoperability (PI) and Real World Testing (RWT) requirements. Serving as the bridge between internal and external product stakeholders and software development teams to deliver technical solutions for business needs, the individual will be responsible to ensure the coordination and implementation of Federal PI, Meaningful Use initiatives and RWT initiatives as applicable to CPSI’s various product offerings. Working collaboratively across business groups, the individual will create requirement documents with a focus on satisfaction of PI requirements, as well as identify gaps between product requirements and company standard software products. The candidate will also work directly with clients to ensure their PI software and documentation needs are met. The candidate will work with cross teams to design, implement and operationalize processes and software solutions.

  • Promoting Interoperability
    • Attend CPSI PI meetings and communicate necessary information to product development teams.
    • Coordinate PI activities with CPSI product development teams.
    • Review PI documentation from ONC and Drummond to determine compliance requirements for our products; provide Drummond quarterly updates.
    • Identify required product changes that align with compliance handoff processes.
    • Update CHPL with MU updates as necessary.
    • Ensure CPSI meets all PI deadlines.
    • Develop Real World Testing (from 2015 Edition Cures Update, or most current) certification criteria plans and rollout.
      • Deliver on plans for meeting RWT.
      • Update of the quarterly and annual RWT plan and submission with certification.
      • Work with Drummond and sign reports and certifications.
      • Education on the RWT plans internally and ensure the product reflects the plans.
    • Verify completion of PI development items and create test plans as needed.
    • Create customer-facing PI documentation and attestation letters as needed, including handling customer PI questions.
    • Provide business analysis for PI-related customer-specific integrations and reporting needs.
    • Read and Interpret government regulations
    • Hold meetings with assigned Principles and Product Managers to identify product designs & requirements to fulfill PI rules Oversee entire certification process
    • Ensure all educational needs for clients, internal and external, are met. Track all sites and their PI attestation/funds
    • Coordinate PI and Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) education, documentation and assist with audits and vendor letters Track and respond to all FAQs outlined by CMS and answer any submitted by customers.
    • Lead Promoting Interoperability Meeting with all 2015 Edition Cures Update certification criteria.

 

  • Manage US data products consent and privacy compliance
    • Data products include:
      • Evident EMR customer-selected 3rd party applications (replacing existing legacy interface business).
      • Patient-selected 3rd party applications as required by the anti-information blocking rules of the 21st Century Cures Act.
      • Forthcoming de-identified data products for new markets such as payers and pharma.
    • Responsibilities include:
      • Understand US consent and privacy requirements and ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.
      • Establish screening procedures for 3rd party compliance prior to enabling CPSI data connections.

Position Requirements

Essential Functions: Specific responsibilities of this role include providing quality leadership to achieve and exceed Company goals and objectives related to the following activities:

  • Communicate with management teams and peers (as needed) to assist with escalated customer, government relations, and compliance needs and/or issues.
  • Communicate with many external organizations representing government interests including but not limited to HHS, ONC, and OIG.
  • Collaborate with other departments, divisions and senior leadership in the establishment and implementation of Company policies and processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the certification process, the maintenance of certification requirements, and the ramifications of noncompliance.
  • Maintain all responsibilities as liaison with the authorized certifying body and maintain quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Monitor legislation to ensure compliance with applicable governmental mandates.
  • Demonstrate exceptionally high level of organizational and time management skills.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Experience/Certification Requirements

  • Healthcare regulatory experience
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to follow issues through to resolution.
  • Act both independently and as a team member.
  • Proven leadership skills encompassing but not limited to the following: excellent communication skills with all levels of CPSI Management, members and employees as it relates to leadership growth, team development, overall company objectives, and customer service needs.
  • Exhibits good judgment, character and decision making.
  • Able to handle Divisional needs with minimal guidance from Senior Management.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative, Dependable, Proactive, Empathetic and Agile.
  • College degree required.
