Email Opening Title Emergency Department (ED) Coder (Remote)  Location Philadelphia, PA   Description eCatalyst Healthcare Solutionsis hiring immediately for facility Emergency Department Coders to join our diverse and dynamic team of Health Information professionals. As an Emergency Department Medical Coder, you will perform coding for one of our valued client partners. Job Responsibilities Reviews physician documentation and assigns ICD-10-CM, CPT, CPT Modifier, HCPCS, and E&M codes supported by medical record documentation. Understands and adheres to injection and infusion coding guidelines. Utilizes our clients electronic medical record (EMR), encoder, and computer-assisted coding (CAC) software as directed. Ensures optimal reimbursement while maintaining compliance with CMS and third-party payor policies and guidelines. Maintains compliance with eCatalyst and clients coding policies, procedures, and guidelines. Abstracts pertinent information from the medical record, per client guidelines. Consistently maintains 95% or above accuracy rate while meeting established productivity standards. Completes daily production log and daily time keeping requirements. Attends and participates in eCatalyst and client meetings as requested. Completes coding continuing education and maintains coding credentials. Ensures HIPAA compliance at all times. Injections and infusion coding experience. Proficiency in multiple EMR’s, encoders, and the Microsoft Office suite. Excellent knowledge of payor and CMS coding guidelines. Educated in HIPAA regulations; must maintain strict confidentiality of patient Protected Health Information (PHI). Consistently achieves quality and productivity standards. Excellent medical terminology knowledge. Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner. Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
