CMCSB is recruiting for the position of full-time Reimbursement and Sevice Authorization Specialist to work at the Laurels Recovery Center. Duties in this position will include working with insurance companies to obtain and track service authorizations and extensions, generate billing for services, compile data using excel spreadsheets for data management, and meet deadlines in required reporting. Candidate may also provide backup coverage to the residential program by serving as receptionist to telephone, individuals receiving services, and visitors to the program, conducing financial reviews, scanning documents, data input, opening and distributing mail, conducting review of charts, etc.

 
Position Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in a business-related field is preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent with previous work experience in a behavioral health or other medical office setting is required. Candidate must have excellent computer skills and be able to proficiently create excel spreadsheets. Minimum requirements include: Experience working with insurance companies regarding behavioral healthcare service authorizations and billing, excellent time management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to compile data and complete required reporting in a timely manner, ability to ensure correct and timely program billing for a 16-bed residential treatment facility, ability to track authorizations and extensions to ensure billing requirements are met daily. Must also have the ability to travel to other office locations as needed. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Valid driver’s license and good driving record also required.

About the Organization CMCSB was formed in 1972 as a Chapter 10 Community Services Board under Virginia law. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
