Employment Specialist (PT)

Looking for a Part-Time Employment Specialist for our Supportive Employment program.

Job Summary:
You will provide development and coaching services to consumers with severe and persistent mental illness job and assist consumers in choosing, gaining, and maintaining competitive employment.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and implement an individualized service agreement to assist consumer with career goals
  • Identify potential employers and develop job opportunities related to the consumer's specific needs
  • Maintain relationships with existing employers face-to-face or by phone at least one (1) time per month
  • Provide employers and co-workers with support, training, educational and technical assistance regarding job accommodations
  • Provide ongoing support until consumer is terminated from program using guidelines is SES manual
  • File monthly DVRS and DMHS reports using an electronic system
  • Attend all committee, NJIEI Job Coach Training, and quarterly networking meetings
  • Participate in vocational team meeting one (1) time per week
  • Coordinate and markets SES and Vocational Services to community groups, agencies involved in employment related activities, consumer groups, and families
  • Document all interactions with consumers in your client's record observing Agency policy and procedures
  • Participate in and monitor Consumer Support Groups
  • Report to Program Manager

What We Need to See:

  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Rehabilitation, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited college or university.
  • 1 year experience working with the target population of young adults with severe and persistent mental illness and with job coaching and vocational programs.
  • A valid NJ Driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance.
