Human Resources Generalist 

Description

Human Resources Generalist is responsible for handling a wide range of human resources related tasks. This individual interacts with branches, maintains organization, following policies and procedures, have a diverse background with recruiting, benefits administration, and employee relations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Administers various human resources projects, plans, and procedures for all company personnel and assists in development of company policies.
  • Works with branches on a daily basis on various HR related functions.
  • Assists with benefits administration including open enrollment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel from posting the position, scanning applicants, phone screens, offer letters, and new hire paperwork with regards to federal regulations.
  • Assists with the new hire onboarding process.
  • Assists with maintaining affirmative action reporting and plans and maintains other logs to conform with EEO regulations and various governmental compliance mandates.
  • Assists HR Manager with bi-annual performance evaluations.
  • Assists branches with rehires and returned employees from seasonal layoff
  • Assures branches are in compliance with all their Federal and State labor law posters with the use of PosterGuard services.
  • Assist with HR reports, decisions, and HR functions in relation to established goals of the company.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the company.
  • Maintains compliance with all federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Performs other related HR duties as required and assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of Human Resources Specialist, Generalist, or relevant HR position.
  • Well rounded experience in recruitment, applicant tracking, employee engagement, benefits, and performance management.
  • Experience writing policies and communication pieces for distribution.
  • Excellent recording keeping and high attention to detail
  • Have an understanding about payroll and payroll laws in regards to compensation.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain a high level of confidentially when dealing with confidential company information.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.
  • Ability to interact and follow up effectively with employees and management at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
