POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for handling a wide range of human resources related tasks. This individual interacts with branches, maintains organization, following policies and procedures, have a diverse background with an HRIS system and employee assistance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Assists with various human resources projects, plans, and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Assists with the new hire onboarding process which includes I-9 verification and E-verify.
  • Handle Tier 1 questions and provide solutions for branches and its employees on a daily basis on various HR related functions in the HRIS system as well as reset employee passwords.
  • Maintain HR data in the HRIS System including direct deposits, I-9s, and tax forms.
  • Run reports and organize data for various levels management.
  • Assists branches with rehires and returning employees from seasonal layoff.
  • Assists the HR team with open enrollment and answer benefits questions and navigation through the HRIS system communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Generate communication emails to employees.
  • Review and approve offer letters.
  • Run background checks and generate chain of custody forms.
  • Participate in Zoom and TEAMS calls.
  • Maintains compliance with all federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Performs other related HR duties as required and assigned.
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources. This is an entry level HR position.
  • Well rounded experience and understanding of recruitment, applicant tracking, employee engagement, and benefits.
  • Experience with calls over Zoom and/or Teams.
  • Excellent recording keeping and high attention to detail.
  • Have an understanding about payroll and payroll laws in regards to compensation.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain a high level of confidentially when dealing with confidential company information.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.
  • Ability to interact and follow up effectively with employees and management at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
