This position is a key member of the support team. This position participates in the evaluation/support of raw materials, current products, management of technical service requests, and performance reporting for fuel and lubricant additive products. This position also interacts with staff and other support personnel, customers, suppliers, production facilities, and the sales team to provide excellent technical service for each group's individual needs. Strong knowledge of and/or willingness to learn fuel and lube additives, formulations, understanding of testing methods, quality assurance of raw materials, finished additives, analytical ability, personnel management skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and a desire to continue professional growth are required.
Supervise and train personnel on lab instruments, testing techniques, and safety procedures. Coordinate work schedules.
Evaluate raw materials from vendors. Products must be introduced in accordance with established 'New Raw Material' guidelines.
Responsible for product quality assurance procedures, processes, and blend quality monitoring. Investigation of product problems, incident reporting, investigation, and determining the root cause of quality issues is expected, followed by recommendation of preventive measures. This position is a point of contact for EH&S issues relating to compliance, training, and documentation (permits, safety training/tracking, etc.), sample fulfillment, and testing workflow. Utilizing and ensuring ASTM methods are in place and followed for testing purposes is expected. Available for customer/quality complaints.
