Description

JOB SUMMARY: Primary responsibilities include managing the daily operation aspects of the safe house facility. The House Manager is responsible for developing, coordinating and maintaining the physical operation of the safe house and the policies relating to the same.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily checks for safety of the safe house facility including offices to (1) ensure household responsibilities are completed (2) repairs needed are noted and brought to the attention of supervisor.
  • Perform a formal monthly inspection of all areas of the safe house, including offices and outside perimeter and submit to supervisor.
  • Ensure that agency vehicles (1) are running properly (2) are clean (3) have maintenance and upkeep done on a regular basis (i.e.: oil changes, winterize, summarize, etc.) (4) Bring any repairs or maintenance needed to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Coordinate purchase of services and/or new items as needed and approved by the supervisor.
  • Coordinate the safe house wish list with Community Affairs Manager.
  • Inventory and order cleaning and paper products, as needed.
  • Review shopping list and shop for groceries as needed. Participate in the coordination and delivery of food and necessities to residents staying offsite in motels.
  • Coordinate and inventory donations as needed.
  • Maintain file of invoices of all purchases and log all expenditures. Submit monthly report to supervisor.
  • Conduct weekly house meetings to ensure understanding of and compliance with house rules (i.e.: responsibilities, understanding about appliances, fire/safety regulations, etc.)
  • Ensure monthly fire drill is conducted and documented.

Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  The position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma.  Experience working in a residential setting is preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFCATIONS NEEDED: Valid driver’s license

MANDATED PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:  Providence House is a 24-hour residential program, as such requires staffing at all times.  When accepting a position with this agency it is important to know that the regular shift at the time of hiring is subject to change during the course of your employment, and that at times of staff emergencies or special events you may be required to fill shifts other than (instead of) your regular shift.
