SUMMARY OF POSITION:

UGM Motors specializes in reconditioning and selling donated vehicles in order to generate revenue and awareness for the benefit of the Union Gospel Mission Ministries. The Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining a healthy work environment for the customers, donors, volunteers and staff members. He/she will communicate the department needs to the service and detail departments and to the General Manager. The position is responsible for the sales, marketing and customer service related to all inventory produced for resale as well as the sales and administration communication with donors.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Result Area #1: Management

  • Responsible for the success of the Motors Sales Department and staff
  • Maintain unity and a positive working environment among Sales and Admin staff
  • Continually promote the cause to all staff and clientele
  • Manage customer service from beginning to end. One Hundred percent satisfaction is the goal (donations and sales).
  • Lead Sales and Admin Department meetings and implementation of department and organizational strategic tasks and goals among sale staff
  • Able to perform ALL Sales Associate duties and responsibilities
  • Manage sales training in the following areas, but not limited to the following list:
  • Complete sales documentation, marketing tasks, and donation paperwork to completion
  • Trade-in process and procedures
  • Sales techniques
  • Sales presentations
  • Opening and closing procedures
  • Manage Sales Associate sales and prep quotas
  • Oversee sales facility maintenance

 

Key Result Area #2: Inventory Merchandising and Reporting

  • Keep General Manager informed of all critical activities
  • Oversee vehicle and lot merchandising
  • Vehicle presentation (lined up, flags, quality control)
  • Oversee online vehicle presence
  • Presented professionally and accurately
  • Update daily progress in the Three a Day report
  • Monitor metrics associated with the Sales and Admin Department

 

Key Result Area #3: Inter-departmental Relations

  • Maintain good working relationships with Production Service Manager (PSM), Detail Supervisor (DS) as well as Retail Service Manager (RSM)
  • Communicate quality control issues with appropriate department manager (PSM, DS)
  • Ensure potential goodwill repairs are communicated to PSM or RSM

 

Key Result Area #4: Qualifying Trade-ins / Donations

  • Responsible for accurately valuing trade-in vehicles
  • Ensure trade-in policy and procedures is followed by Sales and Admin staff and accurate value is established

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Computer literate with a good proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook; able to complete documents, reports and accurately record information.
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and instructional.
  • Prove to be teachable; organized with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at once; able to listen and follow instructions.
  • Valid Washington driver’s license – required.
  • Clean driving record and insurable by our standards – required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100%

  • Work is balanced between working indoors and outdoors. It requires climbing stairs, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and going from building to building - Continuously.
  • Requires working with a diverse population, many of whom struggle with homelessness, addiction, and mental illness – continuously.
  • Requires a sustained level of high energy, stamina and the ability to move about all of the facilities on a regular and ongoing basis – frequently.
  • Requires the ability to hear, see, and speak clearly – continuously.

 

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED:

  • Phone
  • Computer, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Office 365, Virtuous CRM, UKG HR software.
  • Golf Cart
  • Jump box
  • Possibly forklift

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Two or four-year college degree in applicable field of study, or equivalent years of experience working in automotive industry
  • Five plus years in the automotive industry preferable with Sales Management experience
  • Experience managing an interdependent team
