Description

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist provides oversight for safety and environmental compliance for a variety of VinFast properties. This role is responsible for developing, leading, and sustaining safety and environmental initiatives. The EHS Specialist will work directly with key stakeholders to identify solutions to EHS issues/challenges while driving continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Manages waste needs following automotive industry standards regarding hazardous waste disposal and transportation regulations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to occupational health & safety are met or exceeded.
  • Aware of changing laws and regulations that impact company operations.
  • Cultivate vendor services for environmental compliance, waste management, personal protective equipment, safety training, ect.
  • Documents and tracks audits and inspections.
  • Works interdepartmentally to provide support and guidance on workplace design regarding all safety aspects.
  • Create & implement emergency preparedness/response programs.
  • Lead and manage environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria and guided projects
  • Coordinates risk assessments, job hazard analyses and provides suggestions on safety improvements.
  • Training programs on general safety, identifying hazards, injury prevention and other relevant items.
  • Develop an EHS budget, invoice processing through SAP
  • Conducts risk assessments and report findings to multiple departments.
  • Facilitate safety committee meetings and other team engagement activities.
  • Procurement of various products and services related to EHS.
  • Additional relative support as needed.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Communications, Engineering or related
  • 3-5 years of experience in EHS/or related functions
  • ASP or CSP Certificates preferred
  • Experience developing EHS programs, policies, and training.
  • Experience with Local, State, and Federal Regulations and Compliance.
  • Understanding of incident and injury prevention programs, within Automotive or Manufacturing Industries is preferred (Electric Vehicle experience is a plus)
  • Perform root cause analysis techniques, with the ability to organize, and present data
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel to various office/store locations as needed
