Position Overview:

The Sales Planning Analyst in the Suja Sales Planning department will play a critical role in the effective execution of sales strategies, while supporting the existing business across channels and identifying new opportunities along the way. The role will report into the Sales Planning & Trade Analytics Manager, working closely with this leader to partner on initiatives that will maximize Sujas results across all channels. This role will be charged with work directly related to driving forecast accuracy and best practices, optimized pricing & trade planning management, efficient organization-wide tools, tracking and reporting metrics, and customer development including strategic white space closure.This role will also be responsible for supporting our Suja merchandising teams ongoing tracking and analytical needs.

This person will be required to communicate and collaborate across Sujas full sales organization and partner with cross-functional support teams such as finance, marketing, category management, and supply chain to drive profitable volume growth. Importantly, we are looking for someone who is a self-starter, is data driven, wants to learn, and is a team player. This is a newly created role that necessitates creative thinking, attention to detail, clear communication style and allows for this person to help influence and sculpt the future of the department.

Areas of Focus:

  • Application of Suja Company and customer specific sales strategies and initiatives
  • Leverage Sujas unique mission, high quality standards, and portfolio strengths daily
  • Work with Field Sales to maintain and optimize accuracy within the planning & budgeting tool
  • Manage sales planning tools and templates to drive forecast accuracy
  • Manage sale team strategy, goal, and KPI trackers to provide accurate progress reporting to Field Sales and Leadership
  • Drive trade and pricing efficiencies across channels to drive profitable growth through post-promo scrub and development opportunity analysis
  • Provide analytical support for key Sales Planning cycles and meetings, including S&OP
  • Provide analytical support for key merchandising team initiatives to generate strong ROIs
  • Assist in developing the financial & sales volume and trade plans for the fiscal year
  • Ad hoc reporting support for Field Sales, Sales Planning and Leadership

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales Planning

  • Collaborate with Field Sales to develop and refine data-driven forecasts by customer & product group
  • Communicate and capture customer risks & opportunities across all channels
  • Assist in the Sales Planning and S&OP monthly preparation and meeting
  • Support the Annual Sales Planning process through tracking and analysis of sales strategies

Pricing and Trade Efficiencies

  • Support analysis to determine effective usage of trade spend
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and field sales to scrub and analyze current plans and growth opportunities to drive profitable decision making and best practices
  • Manage tracking and performance of pricing and trade initiatives

Customer Development

  • Work with field sales to identify key customer opportunities to drive revenue & profit growth via distribution, store count expansion and innovation
  • Identify trade savings opportunities by customer & package type to optimize profitable growth
  • Execute analysis, tracking, and forecast accuracy for customer development opportunities

Team Support

  • Manage sales team goal, strategy, and KPI tracking and reporting on a regular basis
  • Assist with Merchandising and Broker team tracking and analytic support
  • Ownership and tracking of customer agreements, pricing, and guarantees within the internal systems
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Must have CPG sales experience in business planning and/or direct sales
  • Experience in forecasting and trade spend management preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Work)
  • Understanding of syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, SPINS) and how to use it as a customer management tool
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated alignment to the Suja Company Value and Mission
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, and a passion to drive success in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints

  • Position will be based in the Suja HQ offices in Oceanside, CA
