Tax Coordinator 

Description

Employee in this position receives supervision from the Customer Service Manager. Assists with processing bills, notices, delinquent notices and levies for property tax, and special assessments.

Has the ability to understand the annual tax calculation process and procedures underthe supervision of the Customer Service Manager.

Assists customers and provides information related to ad valorem taxes, specialassessments, and related fees.

Has the ability to explain notices, review billing information, and payment history tocustomers.

Understands the process for ad valorem taxes, digest changes and corrections reportedby assessor's office and can process these changes under the supervision of theCustomer Service Manager.

Provides tax and special assessment information for attorneys for closings on real estatesales and transfers.

Processes and sends out delinquent notices; making sure late fees and penalties areadded.

Assists in the processing of the tax sale for delinquent taxes.

In the absence of the Customer Service Manager, can aid with occupation tax, excise taxand alcohol license process and procedures.

 
Position Requirements

Associate degree in business management or related field with three years of experience

Must be computer literate and familiar with Windows, MS Office, Publisher, and internal programs

Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi- tasked work environment

Good oral and written communication skills a must

Must have strong public relations skills

Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail while consistently meeting deadlines.

Responsible for assisting customers with questions and information regarding tax.

Ability to deal with irate customers effectively and a professional manner.

Ability to deal courteously and diplomatically with the public.

 
Physical/Environmental Requirements Mobility to work in typical office settings using standard office equipment is required. In addition, vision to read printed materials and computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
