IT Software Specialist 

Description

Responsible for providing advanced level support for various applications including GEMS, Tyler Technologies, UBILL/Cogsdale, Cityworks and Laserfiche. Responsible for supporting application implementation and testing. Responsible for being mediator between IT Support and Development Team. Also, responsible for all routine administrative tasks and documentation.

Administers system security (i.e., authorization, access, read only, passwords, etc.) for UBILL/Cogsdale, GEMS, Tyler Technology, Cityworks and Laserfiche applications.

Providse advanced support for various line of business applications including UBILL/Cogsdale, GEMS, Cityworks etc., for internal and external customers.

Provides level 3 support for Tyler Technologies, UBILL/Cogsdale, GEMS, Cityworks and Laserfiche applications for IT support personnel before being escalated to the development team.

Leads IT support personnel for application implementation.

Performs application maintenance and administration as needed.

Tests new versions of Cogsdale and Tyler Technology applications and learns the new enhancements of the software.

Supports Vision 360(Triad) application.

Provides level 1 end user IT support for all pc related hardware and software issues.

Logs all support issues in the Service Desk application.

Maintains support scripts in electronic form.

Places orders for equipment and software as needed, including creation of purchase order, notification of vendor, notification of IT staff and follow through of delivery of product.

Keeps up with industry trends for commodities.

 
Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with a few years of experience in software applications.

Associates degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent preferred.

Experience with Microsoft SQL a plus.

Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in IT Support on the City of Thomasville’s system.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.

Must possess good oral/written communication skills.

Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities and tasks.

 
Physical/Environmental Requirements Mobility to work in typical office settings using standard office equipment is required. In addition, vision to read printed materials and computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
