Description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Delivers appropriate radiation per treatment planning and collaborates with other healthcare staff. Notifies Physician and/or RN of adverse effects/reactions.
  • Records and verifies radiation treatment. Assures radiation protection and safety standards.
  • Positions patients and selects anatomic/technical parameters per physician order.
  • Assumes responsibility for the proper use of assigned equipment and applies troubleshooting skills and takes appropriate action as necessary.
  • Performs basic photon/electron calculations.
  • Constructs patient shielding per treatment plan.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare personnel and team members for radiation care.

Position Requirements

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: American Reg of Rad Techs (ARRT)

ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • ARRT Registered Technologist Radiation
  • Therapist license in the state of Indiana in good standing.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
  • Mandatory Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies, scope of practice, and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
