Virtual Design & Construction Specialist

The Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Specialist will use the latest construction technologies to enable internal and external project teams to communicate, visualize, and identify operational improvements - to virtually build the building before its built.

Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility of the VDC Specialist is to prepare and lead collaborative sessions with the Russell team, external designers, engineers, subcontractors, owner representatives and field teams to implement VDC processes and industry best practices on their projects.
  • Assist in development of project guidance for BIM (Building Information Modeling) Execution Planning.
  • Review models for accuracy against contract documents and performs internal QA/QC check for constructability review.
  • Support in creation of graphics, renderings, animations and VR/AR for project pursuits, real estate and business development, and marketing.
  • Work with project team to create site logistics models and drawings.
  • Assist in Implementing new technology and provide training to maximize workflows.
  • Limited travel to jobsites to troubleshoot BIM/constructability issues and problem resolution.

 
Position Requirements
  • Associates degree (or higher) in CAD Engineering Technology, Visual Communication, Construction Engineering/Management, Architecture or equivalent.
  • 3+ years BIM Design or Construction experience. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction; technology, equipment, means and methods, engineering, estimating, scheduling and safety are required.
  • Must be able to read and understand contract documents and drawings and have an understanding of the documentation procedures, contracts, and specifications.
  • Exceptional computer skills and a strong familiarity with the Autodesk AEC collection (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD), and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Procore, Bluebeam, Lumion, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) Sketchup, knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with Infraworks, Civil 3D, 3ds Max, drones, laser scanning, photogrammetry, gaming technology (Unity or Unreal), virtual and augmented realities considered a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation, team building, problem solving, mathematical and analytical skills required.
  • Must possess exceptional organization skills and keen attention to detail, deadlines and accuracy.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
