The Credit Manager is responsible for the protection and maintenance of the Company investment in Accounts Receivable for assigned accounts within the established Corporate Credit Policies. This position provides direction and support for the Regions Sales group to maximize profitable customer development as it relates to effective Accounts Receivable management. The customer base is primarily composed of privately held small business flooring retailers and contractors.

Primary responsibilities include:

Conducting Credit Investigation on new and existing customers.

Establishing and communicating appropriate lines of credit for each customer.

Maintaining Customer account balances within appropriate credit risk levels while utilizing operating system to accommodate timely flow of orders to the operations and warehouse groups.

Timely review and adjustment of customer lines of credit to maximize profitable sales while maintaining targeted cash flow parameters at the appropriate risk level.

Review customer financial statements.

Initiate and maintain customer collection activities to effectively manage credit risk and order workflow.

Co-ordinate delinquent customer collection activity with Attorney or third-party agencies.

Provide basic business management counseling to small business customers.

Reconcile discrepancies between customer payables department and company cash application group.

Assist customers in communication and resolution of claims and disputes with company sales and claims personnel.

Negotiate and obtain third party guarantees or appropriate security agreements.

Negotiate requests for deviated customer payment terms.

 
Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting preferred

Proven Commercial Credit management experience with small businesses and small business financial statement analysis.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis

NACM membership and CBA or CBF a plus
