Job Title: Marketing Associate
Reports To: Communications Director
FLSA Status: Exempt, Salary
Salary Range: $45k - $50k
JOB SUMMARY: Coburn Place offers safe housing choices and compassionate support to survivors of domestic violence and their children. The Marketing Associate supports external and internal communications, design and marketing efforts at Coburn Place. They work closely to align with branding guidelines and produce social media content for the organization and marketing materials for survivors. They manage the survivor text app.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Creates communications pieces – flyers, graphics, etc. – for survivors, including managing our texting application

Manages Coburn Place’s social media channels – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn – and monitors online reputation.

Creates graphics, photography and video elements which promote Coburn’s mission, message and brand

Gathers and writes success/impact stories and photos from staff, survivors, volunteers, donors and stakeholders for use on website and social channels, ensuring media/information releases are in place indicating permission to use

Works with staff to ensure the timely, accurate and seamless distribution of monthly e-newsletters, gratitude/thank you pieces, stewardship and/or solicitation materials according to audience

Provides back up for media relations

Works with Communications Director on developing communications plans

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job may supervise interns or volunteers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or other related field; and four plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Previous media relations, social media management, digital media content and communication, basic graphic design knowledge, and communications experience is required.

Experience with platforms/programs such as Adobe Suite, WordPress, Constant Contact, Canva, and other social scheduling platforms required.

Previous experience in a non-for-profit environment where working with a Board of Directors was essential to the operations of the organization is desired.

A valid Indiana driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR is required for this position.

A clear DCS history, and clear criminal and sex offender background checks is required.
