Description

The Internship will be a 10–12 week summer program.

This is a paid, full time (40 hours/week) position at the AstraZeneca manufacturing facility located at 4601 Highway 62 East in Mt. Vernon, IN

Over the course of the summer, each intern will perform department specific day to day activities as assigned by their Mentor (supervisor).  Each intern will also be assigned a key project of which they will be responsible for leading, executing and reporting out on to Site Leadership and staff. Internship Mentors will guide and coach interns throughout the summer. Interns will also have the opportunity to job shadow and participate in various lunch and learns to gain a broad understanding of all functions at the Mt. Vernon site. 

Objectives:

  • Become immersed in the Supply Chain, Logistics and Customer Relationship Management function by supporting departmental processes, changes & objectives as assigned by the mentor.
  • Gain an understanding of oral solid dosage pharmaceutical manufacturing and continuous improvement skills. 
  • Have the opportunity to evaluate technical data and author technical studies in a continuously changing, dynamic, and increasingly diverse work environment (depending on department).

Primary Duties:

  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain and Strategy, Suppliers, Internal & External Customers to effectively complete tasks associated with the project and assigned tactical objectives.
  • Participates on local/global projects or initiatives
  • Executing assigned project & presenting project findings to site leadership and staff at the end of summer
 
Position Requirements
  • Rising sophomore, junior, senior, or MBA working towards a degree in business, engineering, or supply chain.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and achieve significant, complex goals and objectives.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0+.
