Job Summary:

Responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and the execution of our information security capability. Security Architect will work across the entire IT organization to identify, remediate, and prevent information technology and protected information risks and exposures. They will respond to incidents, partner with IT leaders to establish appropriate standards and controls, manage security technologies, and direct the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures leveraging best-of-breed, fit-for-purpose IT security frameworks to build an in depth.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership for information security globally and the development of all IT Security job functions to mitigate IT security risks and apply preventive approaches in line with cyber threats
  • Provide leadership and oversight of all the Information Technology components of regulatory compliance laws including, but not limited to: US PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, State Data Protection Laws, CFR, EU Data Protection Directive, GxP
  • Ensure compliance with changing laws and applicable domestic & international regulations and translate that knowledge to identify risks and create actionable plans to protect the business
  • Implement and support cybersecurity policies and procedures leveraging knowledge and experience implementing IT security best practices including cybersecurity frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT, ISO, etc.
  • Direct the Incident Response, engage and lead third party support for IT investigations, digital forensics, and eDiscovery
  • Implement and manage an Information Security Operations Center or Managed Security Services equivalent • Oversee Identity and Access Management • Oversee Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity management and ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and tested regularly
  • Make sure that cyber security policies and procedures are communicated to all personnel and that compliance is enforced
  • Constantly update the cyber security strategy to leverage new technology and threat information
  • Brief the executive team, as directed, on status and risks, including taking the role of champion for the overall security strategy and budget and communicate best practices and risks to all parts of the business, where appropriate • Review and approve security policies, controls, and cyber incident response planning
  • Review investigations after breaches or incidents, including impact analysis and recommendations for avoiding similar events
  • Maintain a current understanding of the IT threat landscape for the industry and leverage various threat intelligence sources
  • Evaluate and approve all system designs from a security architecture standpoint
  • Assist in the identification of new user needs or program enhancements to reduce and/or manage risks
  • Write, review and/or maintain technical documentation for security practices and procedures
  • Work with CERTIFIED SCIENCES IT Project Management Office (PMO) on all assigned projects, where appropriate
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to complete projects or troubleshoot issues, as assigned
  • Report weekly status on projects to designated CERTIFIED SCIENCES IT management, when required
  • Incident response expertise

Position Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required or experience in lieu of
  • 10-15 years’ overall IT experience required • (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) required or equivalent IT/cybersecurity certification
  • CompTIA Security+, GIAC Advanced or Expert level certifications, and/or ISACA CISA/CISM certifications pluses
  • Microsoft, VMware, Cisco architecture experience and Cloud Security Alliance or like cert preferred
  • Significant knowledge and experience with Cybersecurity Frameworks
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in working in and managing IT security systems and services
  • Strong knowledge of various operating systems including Windows and Linux
  • Strong knowledge of computing devices and networking technologies
  • Strong knowledge of mobile operating systems including Apple iOS, Google Android, and Windows Phone
  • Strong problem solving and logic skills required • Strong organizational skills required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required • Ability to work on projects in a matrix environment • Ability to communicate program standards and requirements to contractors
