SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Regional Retail Operations Manager the Support Manager will provide leadership and supervision to Opportunity Village Retail Store staff and individuals served with disabilities. The Support Manager will ensure vocational training and support for workers with disabilities are received to fulfill program goals and meet budget requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain excellent standards in all areas of retail and processing operational activity and drive sales and profitability through the performance and development of plans and goals.
  2. Maintains donation, production and sales reports on a daily basis.
  3. Assist in training and supervision of all staff and individuals served regarding all areas of retail sales, customer service and donation processing.
  4. Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.
  5. Manage and write weekly schedules to ensure that all jobs are scheduled accordingly.
  6. Retain knowledge regarding production and processing of donated goods.
  7. Assists with trade show and donation drives to attain donated goods for store.
  8. Assist in the development of merchandising changes and trends and maintain a clean and fresh look of the retail floor.
  9. Assists with inventory control and shrink related issues; responsible for the protection of property and building through carrying out appropriate loss prevention measures.
  10. Ensure compliance with program objectives, agency policy and procedures, Health and Safety/OSHA regulations as well as State and Federal Regulations to ensure the health and safety of all staff and individuals served.
  11. Ensures that subordinate management, as well as other company personnel, are being identified, trained and developed to the highest standards possible.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

All retail staff members, clients and volunteers.

 

 

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Ability to respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of retail store and operational management.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations and act in an appropriate and therapeutic manner.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma and Five (5) years verifiable work experience in retail in as management role.
  • Preferred: Experience in Retail Store Operations. 
  • Preferred: Prior experience working or serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Ability to tolerate stress in customer service confrontation and conduct tasks and successfully perform under critical deadlines.
