Summary
Assists in the development, implementation and coordination of product assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

- Assists in the development of and analysis of statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
- Responsible to communicate and work with supervisory team to interpret and apply company policies and procedures. Collaborates and communicates with supervisory team to ensure quality and production requirements are met.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Guide team on a daily basis.
- In conjunction with supervisory team, conduct interviews, hiring and terminating of employees to support quality department.
- Oversees the quality team completing annual reviews of employees.
- Creates and executes on developmental plans for the quality team members.
- Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Creates and implements in process production/process inspection, product inspection, final inspection, receiving inspection, and first article inspection criteria and procedures.
- Assists to interprets quality assurance philosophy to personnel in organization
- Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
- Provides inspection activity for product throughout production cycle when required
- Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department
- Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
- Assists in implementation of the companys FAA program; DMIR, 145 repair station, audits, and training requirements as it pertains to daily quality control activities.
- Plays active role on quality management teams within organization
- Identifies designs and implements quality control training programs needed of department to key personnel in conjunction with managers
- Assists in the investigation of audits and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality
- This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation

Skills
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interprets common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
Mathematical Skills
Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to understand technical products and concepts as they relate to the products and services that the organization produces.
Other Skills
- Inspection training or experience preferred
- Internal audit training or experience preferred
- FAA training or experience preferred
- Reading or revising drawings
- Understanding of both military and commercial quality assurance regulations
- Understanding of mechanical and electromechanical systems
Physical Demands *
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
