Share Email Opening Title Senior Accountant  Category Accounting/Finance   Description The Senior Accountant will work to sustain a secure, integrated, and unified financial management system to ensure DEA is in compliance with Financial Management rules and regulations. Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To: Support the government mandate to recover improper and duplicate payments as required under the Improper Payment Elimination and Recovery Act (IPERA) of 2010 as well as Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-123. Document internal controls develop test plans and testing internal controls over financial reporting as required by OMB Circular A-123. Assist with debt management for receivables for the public non-Controlled Substance Act (CSA) Receivables, preparation of reports submitted to DOJ, preparation of cash reconciliations and general adjustments, other monthly or quarterly reporting as needed, and relevant to UFMS training. Provide support to assist with providing oversight over DEAs financial management issues in its foreign programs, assist with resolving incomplete reconciliations, and reengineering processes. Assist with proposal development, if necessary. Perform other duties, as assigned.   Position Requirements Experience: In-depth knowledge of Federal fund accounting principles, procedures, and U.S. Government Standard General Ledger. Experience in auditing Federal financial operations, including compliance reviews of federal financial processes. Experience in reconciliation projects related to Federal financial operations, preferably related to U.S. Treasury payment and collection processes and mediums including Intergovernmental Payments and Collections (IPAC). Experience in directing and coordinating the work of subordinate staff in similar projects, relating issues to upper-level management, and communicating management’s direction to subordinates. Minimum of two (2) years of experience onsite at a federal agency conducting A-123 and/or IPERA reviews. Experience in auditing Federal financial operations, preferably compliance reviews of federal financial processes. Knowledge and experience related to automated financial management systems, including accounting and budget systems used by federal agencies, preferably Momentum-based systems excellent oral and written communication skills. Extensive knowledge and experience related to automated financial management systems, including accounting and budget, preferably systems used by Federal agencies. Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required; MBA preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPA preferred. Other Required Skills & Abilities: Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement.
