Description

The Phone Receptionist assists DRNY staff and the Director with a wide range of administrative tasks. The Phone Receptionist will support DRNY's operations so that staff are able to stay on task and to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.


Essential Functions

  • Answer incoming DRNY calls and forward appropriately;
  • Provide administrative and organizational support to DRNY staff;
  • Maintain accurate time records and client records and following up with other staff on submitting records necessary for DRNY to meet its programmatic and fiscal responsibilities;
  • Perform additional tasks consistent with skills, abilities and general responsibilities as required to support DRNY and as needed or directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communications skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor and communicate tactfully even under pressure;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Database experience preferred;
  • Bilingual language skills preferred but not required;
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and collaboratively;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals;
  • Experience working with or for people with disabilities preferred;
  • Must have a current New York State Address;
  • Proof of COVID vaccination required.

Working Conditions

The Phone Receptionist may be asked to perform work in an office environment. This position will be working primarily remotely. The role requires limited travel within and outside the state as necessary.
