Community First Health Centers is currently looking for an exceptional Dental Hygienist to join our team!! Under the supervision of the Dental Clinic Practice Manager, you'll perform assessments of oral health to recognize health and disease(s), provide treatment and assist patients in maintaining a healthy mouth in collaboration with the dental team. This position will be located out of our Port Huron medical facility located at 1011 Military Street
Daily responsibilities of our Dental Hygienist may include:
- Ability to build rapport with patient(s), paying attention to detail and providing excellent customer service through positive, professional interaction
- Review and document patient dental history accurately and in detail as well as any current issues/concerns in EMR
- Evaluate overall oral health, examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease or possible cancers, including sores, recessed & bleeding gums and oral lesions
- Follow through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the Dentist; procedures may include prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planning, debridement, application of fluoride treatment(s) and/or protective sealant(s)
- Ability to apply anesthetics as needed and/or administer nitrous sedation
- Knowledge and use of film and/or radiograph; ability to take impressions
- Light general office assistance including unlocking doors, turning on equipment, stocking supplies and/or disinfecting treatment room(s)
- Participation in quality improvement activities
- Other duties as assigned
This is a part time; 2 days per week position (20 hours) Schedule is flexible and will be based on the dental clinic hours listed below:
Dental clinic hoursare Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, Tuesday 8:30 am to 7:00 pm and off Friday - Sunday.
