About the role:

As the Manager of People Operations, you will be responsible for leading the People Operations team through strategy planning, goal-setting, and implementation efforts. You will offer subject matter expertise and guidance in matters related to human resources operations, employee relations, recruitment and staffing, compensation, and diversity and inclusion.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop the people operations team onsite in our Palo Alto, CA Headquarters. (This is not a remote position.)

  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership to define the People Team's long-term goals, assess organizational needs, and drive operationally sound, measurable, and data-driven solutions in recruitment and staffing, core HR functions, communication, employee relations, total compensation, legal compliance, and diversity and inclusion.

  • Collaborate with Leadership to develop and drive an agile hiring and growth strategy that supports the organization's short and long-term goals.

  • Submit an annual operational budget for HR. Monitor budget compliance and provide budget variance explanations.

  • Proactively implement improvements to reduce costs, enhance revenues, effectively utilize resources, develop quality goals and objectives, analyze and utilize data to develop and support management decisions.

  • Design a people strategy that supports the health and progression of company culture. Ensure HR practices are consistent with the Company's Mission, Values, and Leadership Credo.

  • Offer guidance on improving and driving competitive and progressive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.

  • Build trust and credibility with the Leadership Team partnering to offer consultation, effective listening, and problem-solving.

  • Establish, oversee, and enforce corporate standards for HR policies and processes such as onboarding, HRIS management, terminations/offboarding, data management, etc., at a local, US, and International level.

  • Ensure integrity of data and design processes to support business needs. Manage vendor relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, staying knowledgeable of existing and new legislation; obtaining legal opinions; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

  • Oversee AAP, EEO, and Veterans 100 reporting requirements. Oversee visa process.

  • Lead strategic diversity and inclusion planning efforts, including assessment, evaluation, and accountability.

  • Establish and implement the Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Programs in compliance with government legislation.

  • Oversee the annual benefits enrollment process. Keep abreast of best practices and design.

  • Lead the annual negotiation and renewal processes for benefits. Research and recommend new and enhanced benefits and policies to support employee engagement and satisfaction. Analyze and make recommendations on cost-sharing and plan design.

  • Support OD and department leaders to identify and advise on educational needs, competency, knowledge, and talent gaps.

  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of programs/strategies and regulatory action as these items impact employees' attraction, motivation, development, and retention.

  • Oversee employee appreciation activities and recognition programs.

 

 

 
Position Requirements

 

 

Essential requirements of the role:

 

  • A minimum of 10 years of human resource, HRIS, or related experience with three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. 

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or equivalent experience is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) required.

  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.

  • Expertise in recruitment and retention strategies.

  • Demonstrated leadership and culture transformation.

  • P&L expertise; ability to balance and affect human resources decisions that support the organization's financial well-being.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills.

  • Broad knowledge of employment, compliance, and labor law.

  • Excellent integrity, judgment, and ability to build trust at all organizational levels.

  • Analytic strength and conceptual ability.

  • Demanding standards and a high level of customer service.

  • Able to negotiate, build consensus and work collaboratively.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong project management skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with an ERP implementation

  • Experience leading a hybrid team.
