Pay rate range is: $70,000-$90,000 annually, DOE

General Purpose

The Private Utilities Supervisor supervises and provides daily leadership over New Construction crews to ensure a safe working environment, quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and compliance with governmental agencies while demonstrating and promoting Peak Utilities Services Group and Subsidiaries Core Values.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Works independently and is expected to ensure all employees being supervised and efficiently work through the day's work assignments
  • Acts as a lead over the construction crews by providing close oversight of the crew personnel in the safe completion, quality work construction methods and results, and the timely completion as required by customer established need dates
  • Performs employee training/development
  • Resolves daily operational issues/problems as they relate to balancing of workload, vehicles, tools, and equipment; and providing technical support to construction crews
  • Responsible for assisting the Superintendent, Utility Laterals, Denver Metropolitan and Front Range (Superintendent) in the training and monitoring of the crews work performance
  • Acts as a technical expert in identifying technical solutions, process improvements, employee rewards and disciplinary actions
  • Works within established guidelines (Department of Transpiration (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Peak Utilities Services Group and Subsidiaries and similar) to maintain a safe work site
  • Performs jobsite hazard assessments to include daily inspection of equipment to assure the safe operation (clean, good working order, all certificates and license) including drivers daily vehicle inspection forms turned in daily to the shop
  • Coordinates with shop for hours reported, verification/certification dates, and repairs/replacements using e-mail work orders for trailers, machines, fusion equipment, and hand tools
  • Ensures that the job site is ready for crew with locates marked, valid dates, a sketch on site and a clear dig path
  • Transports material or equipment when necessary
  • Maintains quality by understanding, teaching, and expecting the installation of facilities to meet customer/clients’ standards and requirements
  • Always maintains safe work site
  • Ensures Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) is always worn by employees
  • Ensures crews and employees are always following policies
  • Issues work to field crews on a weekly basis with work orders printed from ViewPoint
  • Verifies and submits daily work for accuracy by appointed time and updates schedule as required, in addition to logging attendance
  • Maintains a soft log with phone calls, discussions, and events
  • Conducts weekly toolbox meetings assigned by SQT to review accidents, incidents and near misses with employees
  • Works closely with customer representatives to handle concerns, including those from the builder
  • Investigates customer complaints and damages to facilities and works to resolve
  • Communicates regularly with customers via email, phone, text, or in person to build relationships
  • Bids and estimates projects ranging from but not limited to Gas, Electric, Fiber, Phone, Poly and Cable for builders, property owners, contractors, and utility companies
  • Responsible for ordering material for upcoming projects, tracking and maintaining organized inventory daily
  • Responsible for pulling permits when applicable
  • Responsible for site readiness prior & during inspections

  • Supervises and provides daily leadership over Private Utility crews to ensure a safe working environment, quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and compliance with governmental agencies.

Position Requirements

Job Qualifications

Experience:

  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in a construction role is preferred
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in utilities, both above and underground is preferred
  • Prior supervisory or project management skills, experience preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis

 

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid State Driver’s License is required
  • Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks and a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job and pass a pre-employment drug screen

 

Education or Formal Training:

  • HS Diploma or GED
