StarMed is currently hiring for a Medical Scribe to assist our Chief Medical Officer and PA/NPs with Telemed visits. The Medical Scribe will work under the Chief Medical Officer to assist with documentation and transcribe patient orders. The Medical Scribe would be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with enthusiasm.
Hours: Monday-Sunday 8AM-6PM.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Accompany PAs/NPs and accurately document their encounter with the patient and others present.
2. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the PA?NP.
3. Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
4. Document any procedures performed by the Chief Medical Officer/PA/NP.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
1. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to document patient care as dictated by a physician in a legible and clear manner, following all local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation.
2. Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing HIPAA regulations.
3. Demonstrate organizational ability to maintain and coordinate multiple forms and paper documentation related to patient care.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
1. High school graduate
2. Excellent and legible penmanship
3. Ability to multi-task and consistently communicate in a professional manner
4. Punctuality and preparedness for all shifts and work-related activities
5. Professional appearance is required. Must comply with dress code.
Preferred, but not required:
1. Minimum 6 months experience as a Medical Scribe, related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Completion of a medical terminology course or one year medical terminology experience in a clinical setting
3. Bilingual/Fluent in Spanish
