The Technical Order Editor is responsible for coordinating activities with writers engaged in preparing technical material for publication for AFPSL.

Position Requirements


  1. Minimum 2 years experience in technical order (TO) development for a wide variety of equipment and procedures.
  2. Must have excellent knowledge of the TO development process.
  3. Good working knowledge of technical issues in assigned areas, i.e. electronic and physical/dimensional principles and theories; troubleshooting techniques to the component level; metrology techniques and laboratory practices, etc.
  4. Must possess the ability to work with writers in an evaluative role. 
  5. Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and TO 00-20-14 standards required. 
  6. Excellent English oral and written communication skills required.
  7. Must be proficient with MS Office software. 


Essential Duties:

  1. Reviews technical orders and other materials in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
  2. Insures materials are developed in accordance with set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. 
  3. May participate in the observation of production and developmental activities to determine operating procedure and detail. 
  4. Reviews manufacture's and trade catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service. 
  5. Studies blueprints, flow charts, drawings, parts lists, specifications to integrate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
