MMCAA is a nonprofit community action agency whose mission is to guide local residents on the path to self-sufficiency through empowerment, education and community enrichment. The early childhood services department provides comprehensive Early Head Start home based services, Head Start and GSRP preschool services as well as WIC services.

o $250.00 at time of hire (first paycheck)
o $250.00 at successful completion of 90 days (removed from provisional status)

What you will do
Head Start provides comprehensive services that include educational, social emotional, nutrition and health services to children ages three through five. Lunch aides are responsible to:
Assist in the serving of lunch, interacting with children and providing support to the classroom as duties allow.
Pick up and deliver lunches to the site (as needed); return insulated carriers and serving items to the school kitchen; use of personal vehicle is required (depending on yearly food service contract).
Responsible for prepping, temperature control, clean up/sanitation, rotation of food inventory, and all other food safety duties.
Responsible for the weekly purchasing of groceries and timely submission of receipts.
Work effectively with Teaching Teams, Regional Coordinator and Component Coordinators in meeting program and overall departmental monthly, quarterly and annual goals and objectives.
Accurately complete required program documentation and record keeping in a neat and timely manner.
What we will love about you
Must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school diploma/GED, and have experience working with young children.
Shall possess a ServSafe or National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) certification or be willing to attend a local health department safe food worker course.
Complete 16 hours of annual training in addition to CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen training.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively.
Initiative, flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
Good communication and organizational skills and be able to work effectively with people.
