Project Manager Pavement Marking (Denver, CO) 

Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Direct the operations of Pavement Marking projects including but not limited to contract production for Pavement Markings, and Shop activities and customer contact and relations. Coordinate activities with estimating department with respect to capacity, critical path issues, and production plan. Coordinate with accounting with respect to revenue recognition, forecasting, and reporting. This position is intended to be a working manager role, performing pavement marking and striping operations on the jobsite. Project Managers are ultimately responsible for delivering results that are; safe, on time and on budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Execute all projects in line with the scope of the project
  • Provide general supervision and Leadership to project specific personnel
  • Schedule work hours for project crews to assure compliance with DOT rules and regulations and minimize overtime.
  • Monitor and report of project personnel, costs, and risk issues
  • Assure the team is equipped with the resources resources it needs to execute including determination of equipment needs & requesting purchase of materials required
  • Managing communications (reports, directions, etc.)
  • Ensure that all assigned equipment and personnel are DOT compliant.
  • Follow pre-determined process maps for operation, truck loading, billing and estimating.
  • Ensure that all RoadSafe and DOT safety rules and regulations are strictly adhered to, and that records for such be kept in a proper manner.
  • Leads by example in terms of a strong focus on safety, business ethics, work habits and life balance. Understands the importance of a safety culture in a construction environment.
  • Team player, learns quickly, good communicator and ability to interact with customers and agencies regarding scheduling, disputes, changes in scope of work etc.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • 5 years of management experience and/or Pavement Marking background.
  • Understanding of the financial aspects of job costing and “bid to actual results” including variance analysis
  • Ability to schedule resources to maximize efficiencies
  • Ability to assist with projecting revenue and costs based on backlog and bid pipeline
  • Knowledgeable in branch specific Lines of Business; experience with unions and labor relations, where applicable
  • Understanding of the various equipment utilized within the scope of the assigned jobs
  • Experience in planning and resource allocation for both people and equipment.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc with ability to learn ERP system.
  • Must have excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Industry involvement through trade associations, coalitions with state DOT, or similar is desired.
  • Must have a good driving record and able to pass a background check and drug test.
