Description

Valley Community Services Board is looking for an experienced clinician to serve as the Supervisor for the Child & Family Outpatient Services team.  As a member of the Mental Health Outpatient leadership team, the Child & Family Outpatient Services Supervisor oversees Intensive Care Coordination, School-Based Outpatient Services, and Child & Family Outpatient Services.

Summary of Essential Functions:

  • Provides direction, support, and accountability to a team of mental health outpatient clinicians, care coordinators, and peer specialists.
  • Facilitates individual, family, and group counseling services for children and adolescents experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges, including co-occurring disorder.
  • Serves as a member of the Mental Health Outpatient Services leadership team, working closely with program leaders to ensure quality program delivery within a healthy, supportive organizational culture.
  • Collaborates with area schools, the Family Assessment & Planning Team, the Community Policy & Management Team, local Truancy Boards, and other community-based organizations or providers.

Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
  • Mental health and substance use diagnoses and treatments for children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Emergency services and crisis intervention.
  • Requirements of clinical and nonclinical casework documentation and policies.
  • Professional ethical standards governing client relationships.

Skills Pertaining to:

  • Sound judgement.

  • Psychotherapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, families, and groups.
  • Crisis intervention.
  • Clinical assessment.
  • Time management.
  • Written, oral, and interpersonal communication.

  • Assess client outcomes.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with individuals receiving services, their families, and their support network.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with teammates and community partners.
  • Prioritize competing demands to effectively supervise team.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field and Current LCSW or LPC licensure
  • Board approved clinical supervisor in Virginia
  • 1 year supervision experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of High Fidelity Wraparound Model
