JOB SUMMARY: The Parish and Community Coordinator is responsible for implementation and operation of the Parish Service program as well promoting Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton in the parishes and community. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating parish and community activities within the Diocese of Trenton.


  1. Responsible for the successful implementation and operation of Parish Services program
  2. Serves as liaison and key point of contact for the parishes
  3. Develops and maintains relationships with pastors, clergy, and parish staff
  4. Assists parishes in responding to individuals and families who have requested help
  5. Oversees case management/service coordination, supervises case management staff, and ensures proper documentation and quality of services
  6. Conducts outreach to parishes and makes presentations for clergy, staff, and parishioners on the services that are available to assist individuals and families who are experiencing a crisis
  7. Assists parishes to conduct parish/community needs assessments
  8. Maintains relationship with CFS Counseling Services to facilitate arrangements for services and follow-up supportive services and care
  9. Regularly monitors implementation of goals and objectives

OTHER DUTIES: As specified by the Service Area Director for Community Services, which includes case management services COVID-19, Prisoner Relocation, and CARES funding assistance programs.


Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:    Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Relations, Pastoral Ministry or 10 years of Catholic related teaching / field work experience. Master’s degree preferred.       

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:  Strong skills in organization and collaboration, research and analysis of data, oral and written communication, teaching/training.  Knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and its practical application in all aspects of church life; knowledge of the community resources; ability to manage multiple projects; ability to travel to parishes throughout the diocese; ability to work nights/weekends as needed.
