Turning Point Community Programs is seeking a part time Nurse Practitioner for our Providence Center in Grass Valley to work embedded with the Placer County Behavioral Health. Turning Point Community Programs (TPCP) provides integrated, cost-effective mental health services, employment and housing for adults, children and their families that promote recovery, independence and self-sufficiency. GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Turning Point Community Programs and Placer County Behavioral Health, manages the medical and psychiatric services of Placer County Children’s System of Care.

This position will be embedded with Nevada County Behavioral Health Children’s System of Care to support CalWorks and CalAIM recipients that have been court/program ordered for psychiatric medication support. The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with therapist and Nevada County Behavioral Health team to assess psychiatric/physical/medical needs of mental health clients.

DISTINGUISHING CHRACTERISTICS

This is an at-will medical position within a program. This position is responsible for all aspects of medical and psychiatric services. Additionally, this position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of assigned staff who perform the established duties of the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

  • Provides assessment and recommendations for therapeutic treatment.
  • Prescribes medication; performs injections/blood draws as needed.
  • Orders, interprets and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physician.
  • Teaches clients and their case manager’s necessary information regarding medication, side effects, drug interactions and other health issues.
  • Monitors and reports adverse reactions to medications or treatment to physician.
  • Makes referrals as needed.
  • Provides training to other staff members regarding any medical related information as needed.
  • Keeps abreast of current medical information and pertinent professional developments by attending workshops, meetings, etc.
  • Assists psychiatrists, and psychiatric residents with specific client care tasks as requested.
  • Provides medical support to other Turning Point and Placer County facilities as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with state licensing standards; participates in multi-disciplinary health conferences.
  • Completes paperwork as assigned in a timely manner and meets agency standard for billable units per month; all notes meet County and MediCal billing standards for content and configuration.
  • Provide after hours, “on-call” coverage to program clients, if needed; provide prompt intervention in the event of a crisis both to stop the crisis and to notify, when indicated, persons and agencies necessary for the resolution of the crisis situation.
  • Attend staff meetings unless approval for non-attendance is secured from the County Supervisor, Program Director, or Director of Nursing.
  • Check TPCP e-mail at least twice a week for important updates and notifications.

Schedule: Monday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Compensation: $90.00 - 97.42 per hour
