Looking for a Full-Time Psychiatric Emergency Support Specialist (PESS) at our Paramus location.Various schedules are available including days, evenings, and overnights. All schedules include one weekend shift and all FT/PT positions are union positions.
Job Summary:
You will provide therapeutic crisis intervention counseling on a 24/7 hour basis and respond to the individual needs of their clients and families.
What You Will Do:
- Provide crisis intervention counseling and outreach
- Monitor clients
- Assess clients under the supervision of a Certified Screener
- Provide Hotline coverage
- Advocate for and educate clients
- Conduct Bed Search for involuntary clients
- Arrange consumer's discharge or transfer out of the screening service
- Determine whether the consumer has executed an Advance Directive for Mental Health Care
- Arrange for client transport to a receiving facility
What We Need to See:
- Master's Degree in a mental health related field OR
- Bachelor's Degree in a mental health related field plus 2 years of experience in a mental health setting
- A valid driver's license and insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy
