Description

Valley CSB is looking for a highly motivated professional to join our Quality and Compliance team!  Under the direction of the Quality and Compliance Director this position operates in an ever changing, fast-paced environment, is responsible for the overall administration of the agency's electronic health record and will provide oversight and supervision to the agency's Health Information Management team.

Essential Functions

  • Direct and administrative supervision of HIM. 
  • Responsible for the development and implementation, and compliance of all HIM and electronic health record policies and procedures.  Must maintain current knowledge of all related regulations and laws.
  • Review requests for records, subpoenas and other requests.  Collaborates appropriate actions taken.
  • Communicates standards to VCSB staff, clients and outside entities when necessary to specific Federal, State laws and VCSB policies specific to request and disclosure to protected health information.
  • Assist other HIM staff with assigned duties as needed.

 

Electronic Record System

  • Responsible for the development of quantitative audit systems to ensure regular reviews or records ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and CCS reporting needs.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of systems/policies to ensure appropriate storage and destruction based on applicable regulations.
  • Ensures the integrity of protected health information regardless of format.

 

EHR Administration/Data Specialist

  • Maintain healthy system domains for EHR and document management systems.
  • Effectively and accurately provide account maintenance.
  • Implement and maintain the Client Portal within EHR.
  • Design and develop forms and templates in the EHR.
  • Ensures client populations, programs, and services are coded in accordance with state requirements.
  • Actively participates in agency Data Analysis Response Team.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

Knowledge of:

  • Community-based mental health/substance abuse/developmental disabilities service systems.
  • Computer software, with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Access, and reporting tools.
  • Federal and State requirements for the confidentiality of client records.
  • Consumer’s Rights and Human Rights reporting procedures

 

Skills:

  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Collaboration, problem solving, excellent communication skills.

 

Abilities:

  • Work cooperatively and effectively with Supervisors and Directors toward attainment of program goals
  • Ability to apply regulations to manage and prioritize projects effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Exercise leadership skill with support staff in team building and working cooperatively toward accomplishment of program goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

 

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a business-related or information technology field, or a combination of education and work experience which provides the equivalent.
  • Business Experience, a minimum of 5 years of data analysist or similar business experience.  Experience should include familiarity with Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services Programs.
  • Data Management, Reporting and Warehouse experience including the ability to analyze data regarding trends in services provided and individuals served.
