The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a non-profit institution dedicated to the conservation and research of the Sonoran Desert region with the goal of making the Sonoran Desert accessible, understandable, and valued. It is a fusion experience zoo, botanical garden, aquarium, art gallery, natural history museum, and research institute. We are seeking a driven, collaborative, and inspirational Manager to lead our Marketing and Media Department.
Brief Summary of the Role The Marketing and Media Manager is responsible for planning, initiating, and implementing all public relations, marketing efforts, group sales, digital strategies, and special events. The individual plays an integral role in carrying out the mission of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. The position is flexible and accommodates ever-changing business needs.

Job Title: Marketing & Media Manager Department: Operations/Engagement Reports To: Chief Operating Officer FLSA Status: Exempt Salary: $55,000-$60,000 D.O.E. plus a comprehensive benefit package which includes medical, dental, vision, life and LTD insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with Roth option, Dual-level membership, paid holidays, personal business time, sick leave, and vacation.
Essential Duties (including, but not limited to):
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises multiple employees and volunteers with a variety of job functions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, media releases, and creative copy. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, the general public, and media.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and/or ability to learn a variety of applications including but not limited to accounting software, CRM software, payroll systems, and project management software.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid AZ driver license preferred, but not required.
