Ability to work varied shifts and prepare various meals-breakfast, lunch, dinner, including soups & sauces. Ability to work Bistro stations including grill, fryer, deli and pizza. Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and handling technique. General knowledge of safety and sanitation rules and practices. Ability to work well independently given proper direction. Confers with Chef or Manager on unusual problems and has latitude to cope with other problems. Responsible for hot food preparation, including accompaniments and garnishes. Does advance preparation as needed. Services eye-appealing, tasty food items following recipes provided for preparation and plate service of food. Completes food temperature checks each meal and tastes all food items prepared. Completes preparation records and stores food items properly at close of meal service. Cleans work area and equipment used in food preparation. Takes necessary precautions and follows correct procedures for lifting and bending. Ensures that all hot food preparation and assembling is done in accordance with established procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures. Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties. Provides clean, safe, and neat environment for residents, self and staff. Abide by the organizations code of conduct in the performance of their duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Personal Behaviors: Uphold the Frederick Living mission statement. Physical Demands: Able to stand on tile floor and maneuver independently and safely around work area in an eight hour shift. Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Able to see, hear and speak adequately (with or without accommodations) to perform the essential functions of the job.
