Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, track & expedite Purchase orders based on MRP
  • Update Inventory Stock Maintenance with current Lead-Times, Safety Stock & Min/Max fields for purchased parts.
  • Communicate status updates and order issues through our daily stand up meetings. 
  • Maintain vendor relationships with a focus on evaluating competitive pricing, on-time delivery & quality concerns.  Evaluate vendors annually using supplier performance metrics.
  • Ensure purchasing paperwork and computer transactions are done and maintained accurately.
  • Qualify suppliers, build and sustain strong relationships. Host supplier visits and visit supplier sites.
  • Source and negotiate with vendors who can supply products or services within quality, delivery, and cost specifications. Perform comparative calculations and decide or recommend decisions.
  • Manage and oversee MRP process. Support Production team by analyzing material required for each order.
  • Use company ERP system to monitor inventory and orders, making adjustments and recommendations for actions.
  • Assist in resolving non-conforming purchased materials issues with suppliers.
  • Review vendor packing slips for accuracy after receipt from S&R. 
  • Oversee vendor managed inventory processes. 
  • Communicate inventory updates or issues with S&R, Engineering, Operations, Sales and FBA.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and other departments to identify purchasing needs.
  • Perform Cycle Counts and annual Physical Inventory to ensure accurate inventory



  • General accounting knowledge, including Chart of Accounts.

  • Good use of both common sense and analytics in judgment and decision making.
  • Effective negotiation skills or training, ideally with pricing or contract related matters.
  • Strong self-initiative and personal accountability with high but reasonable expectations.
  • Professional and enthusiastic with strong self-initiative and sense of urgency for results.
  • Strong computer and business applications skills with MS Suite, Outlook, ERP/MRP systems.
  • Confident and collaborative with strong, positive communication to gain confidence at all organizational levels.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to understand, analyze, and correspond accurately about mechanical and/or electrical applications. Ideally able to read blueprints and schematics.

Education and/or Experience

Preferrably 1 year experience in manufacturing, with metals or machined products. Basic understanding of part prints/drawings Experience with our ERP systems Infor Visual and Syspro are a plus.
