Looking for a per diem Psychiatrist

 

Job Summary:

You will provide the clinical leadership of medical services by diagnosing and treating patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, clinical training, and supervision of psychiatric services

 

What You Will Do:

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of assigned patients,
  • Exhibit knowledge of age specific criteria, ensuring that the full range of medical and behavioral considerations are taken into account in determining the diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
  • Function within an interdisciplinary team in the assessment/ evaluation of patients, and articulates verbally and in written documentation the integration of client history and assessment information
  • Create psychosocial treatment plans, with relevant, behaviorally-measurable goals that serve as indexes for evaluating treatment progress, an realistic time frames for achievement
  • Document assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries in the clinical record, with all entries authenticated and time/dated
  • Plan for and communicate discharge, aftercare, and transfer plans for clients completing treatment or accessing other services in the continuum
  • Provide clinical guidance to Agency teams as assigned.
  • Prescribe medications as indicated by signs, symptoms, and diagnosis and educate patient and family about the medication(s)

 

What We Need to See:

  • Medical degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must be Board Certified in psychiatry as defined by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • 2+ years work experience with adults with mental illness
  • A valid New Jersey medical license and have completed a residency in psychiatry
  • A valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate
  • A valid State Controlled Substance Administration (CDS) Certificate
  • A valid driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance
