SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Food Service Lead of HallOVeen and the Magical Forest, the Food Service Worker will perform a variety of semi-skilled kitchen/cafeteria related duties as assigned in compliance with the policies and procedures of the State of Nevada Health Department as well as Opportunity Village.

There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours. This is a seasonal position through the months of October January 2023 utilized to support the Magical Forest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide food service during Opportunity Village events. May included: food prep, food service and delivery, set up and cleanup of food service areas, dishwashing etc.
  2. Restock, replenish and update inventories as appropriate for short order area and fry stations.
  3. Follow recipe guidelines and specifications.
  4. Follow all policies and procedures according to Health Code.
  5. Ensures sanitation and cleanliness meets Health Department standards.
  6. Set up and breakdown of chairs and table may be required.
  7. Provides customer service to patrons of HallOVeen and the Magical Forest.
  8. Reports any safety and/or security issue to Security Team.
  9. Reports any broken items to Facilities Team.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Volunteers assigned to concessions of HallOVeen and the Magical Forest

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Ability to care, respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate emergency situations and prioritize work load in order to meet strict deadlines. 
  • Must encompass professional demeanor.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
  • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the Southern Nevada Health District policies and procedures.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and six (6) months verifiable work experience in the Food Service industry.
  • Required: A Southern Nevada Health Card.
  • Required: One - three years’ experience working in a high volume kitchen environment.
  • Preferred: Prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals.

 

PHYSICAL ABILITIES & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend throughout shift.
  • Ability to work in a typical kitchen environment and outside in a theme park environment in variable weather conditions.
  • Ability to tolerate stress.
  • Ability to conduct tasks and successfully perform under critical deadlines.
  • Ability to stand and walk 90% of work time.
