Description

Fusion Global Academy has an immediate opening for am English and Social Studies Teacher within its Global Anytime Program, which provides students with an independently driven educational experience through asynchronous coursework. This position provides a student centered, supportive educational experience that promotes compassion and tolerance, emotional security, resourcefulness, and independent critical thinking.

Global Anytime Lead Teachers…

provide quality feedback,

embrace and model the vision of Fusion Global Academy and Global Anytime,

design systems to provide support and guidance for students to be successful in their academic courses,

develop instructional resources and best practices within the asynchronous online environment,

model and promote continuous professional development opportunities for themselves,

contribute to the school community as a leader,

and model professionalism and digital citizenship.

Key responsibilities include:

-delivering and teaching in areas of content expertise,

-contributing to the Fusion Global Academy school community,

Competencies:

Self-directed, proactive, intelligent, knowledge of curriculum and assessment, multi-tasker, problem solving skills, professional written and verbal communication skills, ability to connect to students with patience and compassion

Consistently positive attitude, collaborative, passionate, genuine, organized, internally motivated, service oriented, relationship driven, open-minded and open-hearted

Requirements

Qualifications Required:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for consideration, as well as a higher level English/Social Studies background.

Solid subject matter knowledge in a majority of these areas: English and Social Studies in grade levels 6-12.

Teaching credentials are preferred, but are not mandatory.

Experience within an asynchronous educational environment.

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for consideration, as well as a higher level English background.

  • Solid subject matter knowledge in a majority of these areas: English Composition, Literature, and Language Arts at grade levels 6-12.

  • Teaching credentials are a plus but are not mandatory.

  • Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus as well as mentoring experience.

  • The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.

  • Candidate must be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately.

  • Ability to mentor as a positive role model.

  • Understand and support each student's Formal Education Plan (FEP).

  • Commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Ability to manage stress, and self-regulate during chaos and crisis, consistently positive attitude, strong teamwork, passionate, genuine, organized, internally motivated, service orientation, ability to reserve judgment and respond with curiosity and compassion.
