Job Functions: Under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician, provides cardiac care to patients. Perform comprehensive outpatient office visits which include: obtaining medical history, performing physical examination, establishing diagnosis, and developing the patient's plan of care, with a focus in congestive heart failure. The nurse practitioner will be required to complete all documentation, as well as order medications, diagnostic testing, and review the testing results. He/she will provide patient education about the underlying medical condition, and instruct and counsel patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance. In addition to the office visits, the Nurse Practitioner will perform other duties as assigned by supervising physicians, such as completing pre-catheterization education and forms, preauthorization and disability forms. The Nurse Practitioner will administer diagnostic cardiac testing, including stress testing The Nurse practitioner will assist in patient phone calls.   Category Nurse Practitioner- NP   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Location Cardiology- HALI Stony Brook   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time and/or Part-Time   Position Requirements The Nurse practitioner will assist in patient phone calls. Required Qualifications: Current new York State license as a Nurse Practitioner Certification by National Commission of Certification of Nurse Practitioner Competence with computerized health records Ability to work with other medical professionals and comply with HIPAA guidelines Cardiac Experience is preferred, but not required   Shift Days   Tags Practice Hours & Location: Monday through Friday, normal business hours with potential for evenings if desired. No weekends, no major holidays, no on-call. The practice is located in Stony Brook, NY.   Salary Range Compensation: Salary is competitive. Full-time employees are offered benefits such as 401k, health plan and 4 weeks paid vacation. CME stipend offered.
