Share Email Opening Title Pole Technician  Position Pole Engineer   Category Engineering   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Location Head Office - ABQ   Req Number ENG-22-00014   About the Organization   Description Job Description: This is a critical support position for a busy utility construction company operating throughout New Mexico. As a Pole Engineer, daily work will involve creating virtual models of poles and aerial facilities for load calculations and make-ready reports. Responsibilities/Duties: Input data to create computer models of pole and aerial facilities from field survey data, notes, photos and sketches Perform structural loading calculations in accordance with NEC and pole owner protocol through inventory and analysis of pole type and class, riser details, attached facility type including weight and diameters, span footages, drip loops etc. Responsible for reviewing proposed aerial construction projects and making recommended changes for pole attachments, facility types and necessary clearances Upon completion of the pole analysis, develop a cable placement plan to include cable all remedies required for new attachments to meet NEC and pole owner protocol Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets and prepare detailed weekly status reports and updates to clients through routine conference calls or meetings   Position Requirements Job Qualifications: 2-3 years of experience working in the telecom industry Proficient knowledge in telecom engineering, construction principles & practices SPIDAcalc software knowledge preferred Excellent computer navigation skills including design software and MS Office such as Excel and outlook Experience and knowledge with aerial, buried, and underground designs preferred Experience and knowledge with Fiber and Copper cable placement preferred High level of initiative and productivity Ability to work independently with limited supervision Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)   Open Date 9/15/2022   Close Date 10/31/2022   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
