Electro-Mechanical Technician

Job Summary: Our Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring that our processing and packaging equipment is fully functional, reliable, safe, and operating efficiently. This role will function as an integral part of safety and continuous improvement initiatives as well as quality and capacity initiatives required to achieve our BHAG (Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal).

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Ensure all of our processing and packaging equipment is in an optimal working condition so we can keep getting our brews out to fans. This may include assembling and disassembling equipment to facilitate repairs.

  • Performing routine maintenance on our equipment per OEM recommendations.

  • Diagnosing and correcting issues with pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.

  • Troubleshooting of basic issues with Allen Bradley or Siemens based PLC control platforms.

  • Troubleshooting and maintaining our commercial HVAC units, and high and low pressure boilers.

  • Giving us your recommendations and thoughts on managing our critical spare parts inventory.

  • Performing basic facility functions (i.e., monthly fire extinguisher checks, daily chiller and boiler checks, scheduling annual boiler inspections, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and validate work done by vendors/contractors

Environmental Conditions:

  • Working in hot and cold temperatures

  • Working on uneven surfaces and wet conditions

  • Handling hazardous chemicals

 
Position Requirements

Who You Are:

  • You have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food and beverage manufacturing is a plus)

  • You are comfortable reading and understanding electrical schematics, P&ID’s, and equipment manuals

  • You are familiar with commercial HVAC units and boilers

  • You pride yourself on your communication skills and abilities

  • You’re comfortable working independently but in a team environment

  • You possess technical knowledge of PLC based control systems, high voltage equipment, VFD’s, servos, etc.

  • You may have a sanitary welding certification

  • You have experience working with a Maintenance Management System (MMS)

  • You understand OSHA requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices, especially as related to a food or beverage environment

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Standing for long periods of time

  • Squatting, crouching, bending, kneeling

  • Twisting

  • Climbing ladders and stairs

  • Repetitive movements

  • Lifting up to 60 lbs. unassisted and up to 160 lbs. assisted

  • Manually manipulating tools, parts, pumps and hoses

  • Pushing and pulling heavy loads

  • Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer

  • Regularly required to reach with arms and hands

  • Required to use handle objects, tools and controls

  • Use of heavy machinery

  • Working individually

  • Working under time pressure

  • Encountering frequent interruptions

  • Using effective verbal communication
