Program Assistant Visitation (Per Diem)

Looking for a per diem Program Assistant for our Visitation Services Program

Job Summary:
Provide supervised visitation for parents and their children who have been placed in foster care to decrease the amount of time children spend in out-of-home placement and move families toward permanent placement, either with biological family or in an adoptive home.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist and take on case management responsibilities, such as collateral phone calls and coordination process
  • Create therapeutic and supportive environments by providing a variety of structured, age-appropriate activities designed to facilitate parent-child interaction
  • Facilitate weekly supervised visitation sessions for families with case plans of reunification or Termination of Parental Rights/Adoption
  • Facilitate sibling visitation sessions and provide opportunity for siblings to maintain their relationships and build healthy attachments
  • Educate and encourage parents to assume parenting tasks and teach parenting skills by role modeling and offering positive reinforcement
  • Collaborate and facilitate meetings with outside service providers to ensure the goals for the family are attainable and achieved
  • Attend and encourage quarterly meetings with DCPP, outside providers, and the family, to ensure and determine the goals for the family are attainable and achieved or require revision
  • Attend and encourage Quarterly Reviews at DYFS office to provide feedback and recommendations to hasten permanency planning

What We Need to See:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or other behavioral health discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Documented knowledge of and at least one (1) year work experience with children and adolescent populations
  • A valid driver's license and must be insurable by Agency's automobile insurance
