Astronics-PECO is located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood and designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications. The purpose of this position is to provide support for design and sustaining engineering. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prototype, debug, test, and assemble a variety of electronic, electromechanical, or mechanical equipment and systems Support assigned development projects for new and existing products based on formal product specifications Create test reports, make changes to documentation (drawings, bills of material, etc.), and process Engineering Change Orders according to company standards Provide departmental support for equipment and facilities. Support Mechanical, Software, and Electrical Testing activities at company test lab as well as remote test facilities Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses equipment and materials properly   Position Requirements DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCES: Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent and three years or more of related experience, or an equivalent combination or training and experience Soldering skills required Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or government regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to express and manipulate constraints and relationships symbolically Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram or schedule form Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Astronics-PECO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
