Our History

eMDs was founded in 1996 by David Winn, MD, a board-certified family practice physician with a very strong business background who understood the value of having an integrated practice management system which helped physicians focus on patients while optimizing practice financials. Dr. Winn was dissatisfied with offerings on the market, and set out to create his own. The eMDs clinic was first implemented in 1998. Using our own practice management system meant we fully understood what it takes to create the perfect EHR system and why the company built our reputation upon being a highly usable system.

Many years later, we've retained the same values from our early days. We are dedicated to building the best integrated EHR and RCM systems and services. We focus on listening to our customers. And most importantly, we focus on making the practice of medicine enjoyable and fulfilling.

The Product Manger II works at a mid-level to translate business requirements into features and designs for electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software (PMS) applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead product vision with customers and internal staff by conducting meetings and discussions to achieve consensus on product features and functionality.
  • Research existing products and customer requests to determine the desired functionality for a new product line.
  • Create basic mockups of proposed UI for the assigned modules to promote workflow discussions.
  • Write features based on the research and meetings done for each module assigned.
  • Conduct review sessions of features to obtain approval from all necessary parties.
  • Communicates with Sales, Senior Management, Support, Development, QA, and external customers, including Providers, Billing Staff, CEOs, CFOs, etc.
  • Assists in organizing and prioritizing many high priority items, determine strategic goals.
  • Works directly with customers, research and communicate to Product Owners the feature specifications based on requests.
  • Participate in industry collaboration (EHR Association, HIMSS, CMS, NCPDP, ONC, etc.) meetings and events
Position Requirements


  • Experience defining functional software requirements is preferable, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and analytical thinking skills
  • Excellent planning, organizing, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Solid history of establishing and meeting work schedules with limited time frames and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to adhere to standards and procedures
  • Ability to organize material, analyze a wide variety of facts and develop appropriate recommendations
  • Strong grasp of technology and how it plays a role in business processes
  • Ability to understand workflow within the PM system and EMR system
  • Ability to establish attainable goals, objectives, and work plans
  • Ability to multitask and adjust priorities in a busy and changing work environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
